Matt Fine Matt has been entertaining dance floors around South Africa for the last 7 years. His music style has changed somewhat from the early funky uplifting house to the now deep bassline groove tracks of the underground. Starting off playing at the biggest club in Johannesburg, ESP, he moved on to the smaller, but just as influential, 96 Degrees in Rosebank playing alongside the likes of Deepgroove, Lalicia and Speedy to name but a few. It was here that he met up with DJ Speedy, forming ‘The Operators’. Together they produced numerous tracks on the Gallo Records dance label, RPM Dance. Their first big hit was ‘Awake’ which topped the 5fm Top 40 at number 2 and even earned them a South African Music Award nomination. Matt continued to play at many great Jo’burg venues including Picasso’s and Retro. He is currently producing and Djing in London where he now lives. |
